Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears are two who have appeared on magazine covers in untouched photos.

But some experts are questioning details such as shadows.

Will Heidi Montag be getting her own plastic surgery reality show?

It might not be such as far fetched idea after all.  Such a show is now being pitched around Hollywood, according to reports.

Why are we so captivated by plastic surgery shows?

Maybe it’s curiosity or perhaps we want to learn more about cosmetic procedures and plastic surgery results.  Regardless, there seem to be plenty of celebrities who want to share their surgeries with the public.  That’s a far cry from the way Hollywood used to be when stars would deny they had had plastic surgery.

One reason for the change can be blamed on high definition television.  Now viewers can spot awful plastic surgery more easily on the screen.  This brings up an interesting point that your plastic surgeon needs to be more skilled than ever so that your cosmetic work can look as natural as possible.

Does this mean fewer people will be having plastic surgery procedures and cosmetic surgery?  No, but what it does mean is the Heidi Montag overdone look is no longer cool.

Case in point: Celebrity-to-be Heidi Montag.

At only 23, Heidi recently has 10 different plastic surgery/cosmetic procedures done at once. Most involved shaping, curving, etc.  But she also had a brow lift, breast implants, fat injections in her cheeks and her ears pinned back.

“I’m not addicted,” she explains when asked why so many procedures.

And she further explains, “I am trying to be a pop star.”

Heidi, here’s some advice straight from Nashville.  Can you sing?  If so, pay your dues on the stage, not the surgical room.

Why?

There is nothing strange about celebrities, or anyone for that matter, having some  plastic surgery.  Many times the procedures can make a big difference in a person’s appearance.   But the question continues to be why do people get so caught up in it?

Perhaps it is because the surgeries are improvements that people take notice.  What they notice they tend to talk about.  Maybe it’s jealousy.  “Sure that person looks different, but..”     Another theory is maybe it’s because plastic surgery is just now going mainstream in the U.S.    As more and more friends, neighbors and co workers have plastic surgery procedures, it will become very common place.

Glutesplasty is surgery performed on the bullocks to make them firmer and more shapely.

The problem with Miss Magnono’s surgery was the liquid inserted for the glutesplasty traveled to her brain.

This emphasizes again the importance of doing your due diligence before surgery and to make sure your physical condition is properly checked so that problems like this will not happen.

The new law, dubbed the Donda West Plastic Surgery Law, was just signed by the governor.

The reasoning behind the new law is that Donda West’s life could have been saved had her medical condition been known by her plastic surgeon.

Will this new law really help?

Could this law have helped Michael Jackson and celebrities like him?

Will the law stop celebrities from paying some doctors to give them any surgeries they want?

It is alleged Jackson had a lot of tattoos near his mouth and eyes, which were probably permanent makeup of some kind.

Jackson was also balding and had ”dark coloring was stretching” around his head.

Is this an example of plastic surgery gone wrong?

How much plastic surgery is too much plastic surgery?

Just because you want the cosmetic procedure and you can find a doctor who will perform it, should you always follow through?

Unfortunately many celebrities are giving us bad examples of what dark plastic surgery is and does.

Whencosmetic procedures are applied reasonably and with the health and well being of the patient considered, they can be very successful.

But when they have been taken too far, it can be a disaster .

Lois W. Stern of Makemeheal has an excellent post about plastic surgery due diligence and what every patient needs to know before their procedure is performed.

She points out the tragic example of Donda West, Kanye West’s mother’s botched surgery and death.

Researching the background of West’s doctor, Ms. Stern discovered he was not a board certified plastic surgeon.

This is important.

You want your plastic surgeon to be board certified with the American Board of Medical Specialists, or a similar board for your home country.
