Cosmetic Surgery for Teens?

Is cosmetic surgery for your teenagers too much too soon?
Many young people want cosmetic surgery now because they think it will help their self esteem.
However, I believe your self esteem begins within yourself- inside.
I have seen people who are disfigured or handicapped, who do not fit the perfect images Madison Avenue and Hollywood have tired to force us all to accept. Their self confidence is not determined by trite measures.
If someone feels good about themselves, that confidence will radiate and everyone else will pick up on it.
I don’t think you need cosmetic surgery for that purpose.
I think cosmetic surgery is for the reason that you can improve yourself but I don’t think you should depend upon it for your self esteem. There’s a big difference.
So when I read an article about 11- year olds having rhinoplasty and 18- year olds having breast augmentation, I’m wondering is it too much?
Could part of the problem be that these children and young people are caught up in the ideal concept- a concept which is humanly impossible to achieve?
