How To Survive a Doctor’s Visit

Surviving a doctor’s visit may depend more upon you than you may think.
CNN Empowered Patient has a very good aritcle Are You an Obnoxious patient? which gives 5 tips for getting the most out of your office visit and your working relationship with your doctor.
What is surprising here are many of the tips involve the same things we do daily to get along with others and to build good working relationships.
One example- don’t demand medications over the phone. A good doctor will probably want you to come in just to make sure he is prescribing the best medication for you and your condition.
Cosmetic surgery patients can be very demanding if they are not careful. The most important tip is to find a doctor you can trust and then cooperate with him and his care team. Your health may depend on it.
Be informed, but not to the point that you can telling him how to practice medicine.
