If you want to know the real truth on how to lose weight fast, then keep reading.
You might be surprised to hear a fitness expert tell you to get off the treadmill. In fact, that same expert will probably tell you to stop using that elliptical trainer too. If they’re really so ineffective, then why are they so popular? These machines won’t affect you in a negative way, but they’re also not that effective in weight loss. There are better ways to use your time for your weight loss goal.
Here a just a few suggestions of exercises to focus on without spending so much mind-numbing time on the cardio trainers:
1. Jumping rope is great for building concentration and coordination while getting an awesome workout. You’ll probably get more physical benefit from a jump rope than you’d ever get with one of those expensive elliptical machines. Find different and challenging ways to jump rope and work to increase your speed.
2. An effective substitute for running on a treadmill is sprinting out in the fresh air. With sprinting your heart rate fluctuates more and ultimately helps build your stamina better than the steady pace of a treadmill. To get even more results from the time you invest, try sprinting up hills, then rest as you walk back down. Repeat this for as long as you can. You’ll feel really tired at first, but as your endurance builds up you will ultimately be glad you stuck with it.
3. Body weight exercises like mountain climbing, lunges, or even push-ups help engage more of your mind and body to get you in better shape.
4. Swimming is a good resistance exercise that helps you to work with your whole body, so it’s a good choice for building up your overall health. Don’t just loaf in the pool either: do some sprints with brief intervals of rest.
Put them to good use.
If you’ve noticed, most of these exercises require a bit more effort than hopping on the elliptical machine or treadmill. To get better results from the time you spend working out, you will have to get past the mental blocks that keep you on the easy, ineffective workout options to move on to the next level of effective workouts.
