You have now reached your goal! You have thought about it for months and now you have decided it is time to get a lap band. It feels wonderful to take the first step in changing something negative to positive in your life. Having said that, the lap band surgery is not sufficient on its own to help you in getting to the desired weight. You must be ready and willing to lead the charge in changing old eating habits and exercise routines in order to assure the success you seek. The following a couple of points to consider as you make this journey from flab to fab.
Lap Band
1 IT’S NOT ABOUT THE FOOD,
If you do not eat you will not get fat. A lot of the fat is from eating things that you should not be eating. It’s not that we must not eat many things but we should not eat them in huge quantities. Our 1st priority even before the lap band surgery should be to sit down and convince ourselves that we ARE going to change our eating habits in order to achieve what we set out to do in the 1st place. What in tarnation was that about? To lose weight.
2. EXERCISE IS IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE, LAP BAND OR NOT.

Most people don’t enjoy exercising, it’s a universal truth. Overweight people don’t like to exercise but if you’ve gone so far as to get a lap band then you may as well go the extra mile, “no pun intended.” Take it slow and do something that you find enjoyable. The most effective method of exercising to begin with is walking. It’s inexpensive and easy to use. Walking with good shoes and a positive attitude will provide more benefits than just weight loss. If you are interested in dancing, go ahead and try it. You should dance a little bit everyday to some of your favorite dance music. When you start to feel stronger and more energetic and you will, add some resistance training to that. One should start his day by doing a little bit of what he likes. Make it habit and once you do, you’ll miss it when you have to skip a day.

Third. DON’T FORGET THAT, ATTITUDE IS PART OF THE SOLUTION!
In moderation and we know to exercise a little everyday the glue that’s going to hold it all together is called “attitude”,now that we know to eat healthy foods that are good for us. We must remember that our attitude and feelings about something play a major role in our success over the long-term. You require positive reinforcement. Every morning when you get in front of your mirror and start your morning routine, tell yourself that this day you will keep your promise to yourself and do all the things you know you need to do in order to achieve your weight loss goal. Realize that even though you have a lap band it’s ultimately you and your attitude that goings to help it do it’s job. Nobody else, just you and you can do it.
4. FINDING YOUR SUPPORT STRUCTURE.
Lap band or no lap band, friends and family are important. Placing positive people in our lives will help us better achieve our goals. It’s always nice to be with people that are fun and you like being with. The further you be in motion the extra you drop and when friends ask to go, just go. Inform your companions and family accurately what you wish to accomplish and join up there help. Some people may try to sabotage your progress, you must identify these people and avoid them until you feel capable of resisting their influence and unhealthy food choices.
Everything you’ve done, everything you’re doing, it’s all for you. Not only do you need to strive to transform your eating habits and exercise routines, but you may also need to change your attitudes and friends because you decided to get the lap band to improve your body. For the common good, there is a need that all things work together. This is your time, so take the time to make it successful and perhaps be able to one day help someone else be successful at it also. Celebrate what you have become!
