The Age of HPV

Human papilloma virus (HPV) is one of the most commonly transmitted diseases today. The Department of Health and Human Services’ report says that there are millions of Americans that carry the virus. The most disturbing part about this fact is that 5.5 million new cases surface every year. One of the health conditions caused by HPV is genital warts. They are small, pinkish-white and cauliflower-shaped in appearance. Unfortunately, symptoms of genital warts do not usually manifest themselves. This makes it almost impossible for a bearer of the condition to detect the disease and prevent it from spreading. Like most viral strings, HPV has no cure. There are, however, several treatments available for genital warts today.
