Giving fake botox injections have led to guilty pleas from five New York plastic surgeons.

Patients thought they were receiving FDA approved real botox and instead, according to the state, were given a generic type of botox called Botulinum Toxin Type.

The guilty plea does not imply the surgeons gave the subsitutue botox knowingly, as stated by Justice Newsflash.

All of this illustrates we need to ask questions before we have treatments.  We need to make   sure we are getting what we think we are supposed to be getting.
